Anyone still have a vintage computer?

I am a fan of OpenSuse myself. I have tried lots of different distrobutions and OpenSuse is the ONLY one that had absolutely no problems installing or using it on multiple different computers from the new to the obsurdly old.

I love GNU/Linux tool, having tried MX Linux and Linux Mint, I was sold! Now, I don't even use Windows 11 any more!

No offence though, but I think we are straying too far from the main conversation, which is about vintage computers.

Has anyone ever owned a computer with a Cyrix processor?

I'm currently required to use Windows 11 at work, but as soon as I learned that Windows 10 would reach its end of life in 2025, I began transitioning to Linux on my personal desktop in early 2022. I've already been using Linux on my laptops since early 2020.

My HP Elitebook 8400p is a remarkable device that I absolutely adore. In the near future, I will be assisting my dad in recovering some data from his previous super tiny laptop from around 2009 / 2011 before I acquire it.

I bought a Computer with a Cyrix 6x86 *****U at one time. It was considered faster and more stable than the Intel Pentium. I loved it at the time, but I still remained an Intel fan.

When the 486 DX-50 came out, I couldn't afford one, so I modified my 386 DX-25 to a 386 DX-50 thanks to fact that the motherboard I happened to be using having jumper settings that allowed me to do so. I then super glued a radio shack heat sink to it to keep it as cool as posible. My brother had a 486 DX-50 and we compaired the 2 and it turned out that the 386 DX-50 was faster in "real mode" and the 486 DX-50 was faster in "virtual 86" mode.
I believe I had the fastest 386 on the planet at the time.

Oh the memories!
