problem with the latest xpadder...

have just downloaded Xpadder v2014.01.01 Multilingual Retail CRD , got a brand new 360 controller, no matter which button correspond to other buttons, my avatar in the game Metal Slug just can't jump!! It would of course if i actually press the key on the keyboard, that would destroy the purpose. I tried using its own joystick function, didn't work either. i opened word and tested the feature on it, and it worked, so I don't know. any one can help?? thanks!!

has anyone experiencing jump problem with joystick mode?? i mean, the avatar jsut wouldn't jump!! my version is Metal Slug Complete PC
