Buying a Flashed XBOX 360

For those who own a flashed XBOX 360, I would like to ask how you get it?

Do you raid local classified ads, get them in stores that sell, get them online, or what?

What are some safety tips?

Ive had an x360 for 5 years with an x360 key which enables me to play downloaded iso games from hard drive.

At the time I had to select a specific xbox with a certain drive I bought the wrong one and had to take it back and exchange it for the one which worked with x360key.
It has even worked on xboxlive for years without 1 issue its much easier than messing around with flashing.
But I think future games will be only for Xbox one you can play the x360 games on XB1 but not the other way around.

Just the person I'm looking for.

Since there is an issue with buying XGD3 DVD burners like certain Sony Optiarc ones, I've adjusted my thinking and decided to JTAG/RGH it as you've done.

I have a few questions:

1. Did you use a USB hard drive and not an attachable one?
2. How were you able to load games in your storage systems? Installation through the 360's DVD drive, or through the computer?

I might have more questions along the way, but these are the ones I can come up with at the moment.
