Cannot Install Office 2010
#1
I have been trying for a while now to install Office 2010 as per thethingy, but just before it completes it winds its way out and fails. I have tried a cleaner tool from MS but nothing. I particularly want to use Outlook.
I am on Vista x86. I had it before with no bother.
Any suggestions peeps?

Cheers

It looks like torrent problems.

Did you try another torrent, this time not from thethingy?

thethingy left some while ago, and hasn't been offering help ever since.

TBH I don't remember, this has been going on over a year and I could well have. I will do so and get back to you. TaL

No. I tried another install from TSV. Same result "An error occurred during setup"
I turned off the net and I did use a clean up tool.
Any ideas?

Could it be Vista? I've tried an experiment on one of my computers and the marriage between that computer and Vista did not last long.

However, I would consider that your case is an exception, so I will try to provide better answers.

You said that you ruled out the problem as being from a defective torrent. Now, let's check the Torrent program. Could you reinstall your client or use another one? If you do uinstall, try CCleaner to totally uproot your torrent program.

Hope this helps.

Uninstall ALL Office programs. Uninstalling Outlook alone will cause activation errors. Uninstall every Office you've got. Then use this to install:

What error did you get? Do you have updated Vista SP?

I just get that an error occurred. No error code. I can't install a legit solo copy of Outlook either. That will only extract and die. I found a whole bunch of microsoft office register keys and after backing up the registry I deleted them. Still no good?
