I have the original CIV III game all legitimately purchased from way back when. I am addicted to it but the original disk finally cracked while in my DVD reader. Unfortunately, the original game requires the disk to be in my computer. I downloaded a copy from here labeled Prophet Civ III and it downloaded fine. When I mounted it and tried to run it I am getting a "Steam error- Application load error 5:0000065434" message. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to correct it? It would mean a lot to me since Amazon no longer sells Civ III and I do not have a credit card to get it from Steam. Thank you.

Sorry, not really going to help you because I'm not sure how to fix your problem, but I would suggest that you download Civ4. I've played all of the Civ games and Civ4 is the best by far. So you may as well just play that instead. It takes everything from Civ3 and adds to it and makes it 10x better.
I'm going to dl the same torrent you did and see what happens, so if you insist on playing Civ3, maybe I'll be able to help. But seriously, play Civ4 instead.
Ok, so you forgot to crack it. That's what I suspected.
You have to mount the .iso, and then open it and go to the 'prophet' folder, copy/paste the file 'Civ3Conquests.exe' into the installation directory, replacing the original, then it will work.
Installation directory should be, 'program files (x86)/firaxis games/Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete/conquests'
But you should still play Civ4. It's much better.
