Darksiders/ "Hoodlum"

Hi all.

Seems as though ThePirateBay.org has been down for a while, so I've been looking for torrents elsewhere for the time being.

I downloaded a game: Darksiders: Genesis.  The uploader is listed as "Hoodlum".  I myself have never heard of or seen this particular uploader before.

When I download a torrent from anywhere, I always perform a manual virus scan with Windows Security (the built-in program with Windows 10).  Now with game downloads in particular, I know that some uploaders created their own installer, and some virus detection programs can find them "suspicious".

I've even run into a situation (recently, just months ago) where the initial virus scan was negative, but, after installation of the game, a Bit Coin Miner got installed into my system (under the innocuous name of "SoundMixer"; it showed up as a process running when I launched Task Manager; and it was a bit of a "process" to get it removed!  :-p  I even had to edit my Registry!!!).  I got some help on that one from RodneyYouPlonker.

When I perform a manual virus scan on the file, I perform it while it's still in the ISO file format, and then after I unpack it, I run a scan again.  While it's in ISO file format, rarely have I gotten a positive reaction from a virus scan.  Sometimes a positive result can happen afterwards when it's unpacked.

And as some of you might be aware, some torrent games come with a separate "crack", and sometimes these can give a positive result from a virus scan.

Well, while still in ISO file format, I scanned this Darksiders: Genesis game, and a positive result came back of a virus detection.

Here's what Windows Security says:

As I mentioned above, sometimes game "installers" are created, and it's not the original installer (.exe file) created by the company/ game-maker.

Anybody have any input?  Ever hear of this uploader named "Hoodlum"?  Safe?  Trustworthy?

And yes, I understand that sometimes a result from a virus scan is a false/ positive, meaning: Yes, the "crack" for the game is going to be detected as a "virus" because this file is going to make changes to the original files.....so you either accept this or not.

I'd appreciate any help or input.

One thing I like about SuprBay as opposed to some other forums is that they don't "archive" threads, that is to make it reply-disabled in just a few weeks.

This way, all replies that carry necessary information, like this one for example, are possible.

Don't take it personal, I'm not trying to attack people.

I was just saying that information eventually comes around because the threads are never closed and because the threads aren't closed, it allows for more useful information sooner or later. When compared to forums like reddit, where threads are locked after a while, is that reddit does not allow needed information to come, ironically saving issues before they start.

Sorry if I sound like a flamer, that was exactly not I was aiming for.
