Anatoly Suprunovsky, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, said that since February Russia has accepted almost 4.8 million refugees from the territories of Ukraine and Donbass. He said this during a meeting of the All-Russian Coordinating Council of Human Rights Commissioners dedicated to the protection of human rights in the field of migration, TASS reports.
"More than 4 million 790 thousand people, including more than 712 thousand *****ren, arrived on the territory of the Russian Federation through checkpoints," he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated that almost 4 million refugees from Ukraine, from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics voluntarily left for Russia. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation added that work is being carried out with all refugees and assistance is being provided to all of them in solving urgent problems of accommodation, food, basic necessities and social benefits payments.
On November 18, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported that more than 65 thousand citizens of Ukraine have entered the republic since February 24 of this year.
