Handbrake Settings Recommendation?
#1
Hello everyone,

I am currently downloading a near complete archive of the old Disney Cartoons with audio in my native language.
I'm doing this for my nephew who's turning 5 in a month.

Many of the files have a size over 20gb, this is not going to work for me.

I have Handbrake and know the very basics of using the program, but I don't know how to control the output size of a file directly and still get a passable result.

Can any of you give some recommendations on how I set a maximum size for my projects, but still retain as much quality as possible for cartoons?
I was thinking that <2GB would be a good size.

I'd very much appreciate it.

NB: The reason I don't post this in the Handbrake forums is that they have a strict "no pirated content" policy in the forum(instant permban), and I don't know how to give enough details without letting it be known that my project doesn't fall within their guidelines.

I pretty much figured it out on my own.

I'm using "VidCoder" which uses Handbrake as an engine, but has a few extra settings, such as desired outcome size.

On handbrake in the VIDEO section there is a slot box marked... Avg Bitrate (kbps):__________ Check it and type in 2000 and then set everything else accordingly.  Keep the framerate the same as source  and set the optimise Video to med or slow ...set the encoder tune to animation set everything else to auto...that should do it.

handbrake comes with a lot of presets depending on several variables and all of them are going to depend on your desired quality and file type.

i strongly suggest you read the online documentation and go from there: https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/tech...esets.html
