I followed instructions exactly, but got an authentication warning threatening to revert to "Viewer Mode" "soon". (see attached screen shot)
Meanwhile worked around by system-restore, disconnect internet, re-install and firewalling Corel Draw from internet, but now can't get extensions.
What can be done?
and where's THE KAISER?
Thanks!

Corel has been more aggressive the last year, trying to protect their software much harder.
I have never seen this warning, but I have neither downloaded the extensions either.
I'm using the "extensions" from a earlier CorelDraw Package. Look out for the "Content Pack", some Gb's of size.
I'm quite sure, that once started downloading extensions, the serial and auth. code you have enteres, has been sent to corel.
And that's why you get the message. Be careful. Do never contact these companies, my advice.

If you dropped the firewall for any reason and allowed Corel to contact their servers than more than likely any crack you used has now been rendered useless.

Thanks people,
Just to be clear, I didn't set down the firewall, as it never went up; and I didn't try getting extensions.
All I did was install, and ran Corel - as instructed by THE Kaiser.
On the 2nd run I got that warning, and only then, as a part of my workaround - set up the firewall, and when I tried setting some feature (don't remember which, something international maybe), Corel itself asked to download an extension, but obviously couldn't, bcoz of the firewall.
Meanwhile the workaround is working fine.

I just spoke with 2010kaiser and he passed me this screenshot of an install of his torrent of Corel Draw X5 done a few mins ago. He recommends a fresh install and to make sure you block the application with inbound/outbound rules in you firewall. Also NEVER EVER allow Corel to update:

yes, that's the workaround I mentioned.
as there's no mention of disabling internet or firewalling in the installation instructions, I suggest adding it

The install was done with full internet access. Blocking the app. with firewall rules is added protection but not essential. It's suggested as some people can get click happy and download updates etc

well, my 1st install also passed smoothly while connected to the internet, but got detected on 2nd launch.
something must have caused the difference between my 1st installation which got detected, warned etc, and the 2nd that did not.
either it's my disconnecting the internet during installation and registration, or the firewalling at run time. If I were Corel I would try to authenticate on every launch, thus firewalling would be the remedy.
anyways, thanks!

It's that Protexis software that Corel installs without asking. Also, after uninstalling Corel, Protexis remains on your computer. You can block Corel but it's the Protexis software that has to be blocked.

You dug up a thread that was made almost a decade ago and hasn't been updated for a long time.
But you are right: why would anyone use Corel when Microsoft software is easier to crack?
EDIT: Never mind, I misread.
But why use Corel?
They're out of the loop for so long.
