How to download assassin's creed 3 software?

Is it possible to download original assassin's creed 3 and far cry 3 software that is/was being given away by ubisoft on completion of it's 30th Anniversary? I think uplay simply installs the game on my system but if I wish to uninstall or re-install later sometime, I will have to waste some 10-15GB data again to play it so if someone knows, then please tell me how to download the software that can be installed/uninstalled at my own convenience?
