MW2 Offline MP?

I downloaded this:

Problem is that IWNet or whatever is no longer active. Please don't misinterpret that, I'm not asking how to play multiplayer, that annoying message "You must be online on Steam to play this game" is blocking me from playing offline/LAN. Even more shocking, I can't find an answer...on the internet. No cracks or anything I can find that works so I can just play offline.

I've tried using an old IWnet directed to me from a video showing how to connect to IWnet or localhost and it had absolutely no effect. The IW net launcher isn't even the same as the one in the video. Please help...

Yeah, most games nowadays don't permit LAN or an offline alternative without an Internet activation because of "piracy." Funny joke, eh?
