If I have posted this in the wrong forum please move it to the correct.
today I downloaded 2 different torrents from tpb, 1 went smoothly without any glitch, while the other is still stalled saying Magnetized transfer - torrent metadata needed, it says downloading from 6 of 6 peers but nothing is happening.
is there anyone who have any suggestions what this can be or what i can do to fix it.
i use transmission on an imac
cheers

Posting a link to the file in question would help determine where the problem is.
That way others could test download.

Hmmmm... downloading with Utorrent 2.2.1 I get 10 'seeds', but ALL show that they have 0% of the files.
Qbittorrent cannot retrieve any metadata.
Deluge shows 3 seeds & 4 peers ALL with 0%, damn strange.
Something is wrong with that torrent, but I have NO idea what, I've never seen this behavior before.

It's not uncommon, it simply means that the torrent has never been seeded (or, more likely, that a non- or mis-configured setup is blocking the uploader's client from making UDP connections; i.e. they think they're seeding but they really aren't).
They may notice and fix it sooner or later, or they may not. In the meantime it does you no harm to just leave the torrent running. If it doesn't kick off in the next week then search TPB again--if/when they notice that nobody is downloading from them they may try creating and uploading a new version of the torrent.
You could post a polite comment on the torrent suggesting that the uploader visit the forum for assistance. They may not know where they can get help. They may not even know they have a problem. But remember that they are the sole person trying to provide you with something that you want so go easy.
[The "seeds" are merely mis-interpretations being made by your torrent client.]

I remember having situations like this where I cannot send metadata to the leechers in order to start the uploading.
What I did as the first seeder is to switch to older client versions and it worked.
As I look at the swarm no one has received metadata from the first seed.
There is one IP recorded by the udp trackers as seed and I believe the uploader is trying but it won't work unless he pass the metadata to at least one of the leechers.
There are some cases like this that can be solve by enabling DHT and that's when only the new leecher has the problem.
This one seems all leechers has no copy of the metadata.
I would suggest to the uploader instead that he should switch to a proper client version which worked for me.
