Bolsonaro, who picked army general Mourao as his vice-president just before candidature, is a maniac buffon; picture a Trumpesque little Mussolini. Mourao is a small time general, disregarded by the real driving forces old heads in a broken military.
In short, the ruse is to offer a nationalist, harsh on crime, right on individual rights government change with support from the military and against the DoJ, his son had the nerve to state it would require little effort to shut down the Supreme Court - he's a nepotist and all his sons are into politics too.
Half the country is corrupt, many involved with organized crime, and the guy wants to make it the next Venezuela or Bolivia. WHY?

On the other side, Fernando Haddad, candidate for the red star Workers Party, says he will raise minimum wage, retirement pensions, social support, and every possible miracle, including keeping the heavy state management and monopolies. With debt at hundreds of billions (in US Dollars) and a stalled economy, that sounds very unlikely to work, even more considering local laws make it almost impossible to fix anything and the corruption system is an institution, maybe the most popular cultural heritage since Portugal's expedition by 1500.
