I'm satisfactorily using Windows 7 xDark 5.2.(x64) with the AMD 6 core processor, and I read yesterday that Windows 8.1 is faster than Windows 7.
Anyone compared speed of Windows 8.1 vs. Windows 7 xDark 5.2.(x64)?

windows 8.1 is faster than 7 but i try the both and i relase that windows 7 is the better than 8.1 because 8.1 has a lot of problems not fixed but 7 is the boss

Best way to know is installing it... from what I see Windows 7 xDark is not very famous among custom OS'es. If you want the Operating System fast, just set the visual options for max performance, check what services you can disable, check start up softwares and disable some of which you can manually start or that are not required at all, stuff like that... If I were you I would install Windows 8.1 and work with it for several months (It's what I usually do) don't go with opinions because each person has it's own opinion... some more experienced than others...

one of the reasons that xdark is relatively unknown is that it is basically a perfectly hacked version of windows 7 that fools microsoft and can be updated directly from their update centre.
I find it works better and more smoothly than any other OS I've used, taking the best of XP and vista, and tossing out all the junk that nobody really wants.
unfortunately it is incredibly hard to find it, TPD has 1 functional torrent with only 2-3 seeders

hmm I think I'll give this one a try, I found version 5 64bits from 2012, which seems "outdated", if someone could help and check which is the latest version, would appreciate.
EDIT: found somewhere else to download v5.2, much faster than the torrent, pretty low seed count... see if I can help seed it
