WordPress makes photos look crap
#1
All I want to do it post my own photos to my own website - blog-style. My hosting company added WordPress (I kept it in its basic form; no theme change, or anything). I posted photos but they were displayed on the site with de-saturated colours. I looked into it. The solution was supposed to be saving the images as sRGB in Photoshop. I did that, and in Firefox the problem was solved. However, in Brave Browser, and Microsoft Edge, the images were still displayed with de-saturated colours. (I think Firefox boosts colour saturation, which might account for it displaying the photos properly.)

When I open a photo direct from desktop file in Brave Browser the photo is displayed looking normal (no colour de-saturation). But, when I view the same photo on the WP site in the same browser, the colours are de-saturated. And, when I post that photo to Facebook, and view it in Brave Browser, the photo looks as it should with no colour de-saturation.

When I open a photo direct from file into MS Edge, the colours are de-saturated (as they are when viewing the image in Explorer).

Can anyone help, please, either with a solution to get WP to show the photos properly, or an alternative to WP? I have searched for a solution to this, and I have asked for help in an "expert" WordPress forum but with no luck at all. I've disabled WP plugins, and re-compressed images on various online sites, but with no luck. No one seems to have any knowledge about this problem. Apparently, despite the millions of WP users worldwide, it only affects me...

All I want to do is post my photos in a basic format on a simple webpage. Is it too much to ask? I would just create a basic HTML page - old-school - but I don't know how to do that so that it will automatically re-size for various screen sizes, smartphones, and so on, which I think is pretty important.

Please help!

Looks like there is a browser image caching which also played a role. Trying F5 and Ctrl+F5 is a good idea. Specific sites can have their own caching directives. Did you also try other image formats?..
