"artist have to make a living"
"artist/creators should earn for their "Hard Works"
"no shit in the world is free"
show how useless "fact" is forced to be used to demand more earnings that actually not equal with the effort that been done
to be using such an excuse by an artists that having their income from their so called "masterpiece"
shows that these peoples is NOT meant to be in this kind of Business

first thing first before this kind of peoples have to do before even THINK or DREAM to even make something if they intended to earn $$ from it.
is to learn about modern business and marketing first.
Endless Promotions and Marketing strategies is the only things that determined either the creations may cashing some cash or better to be at the end of Shit+Del keyboard combinations.

and if some artist said that the marketing business and promotions IS NOT their responsibility....
then why they whining when their products not sold legally nor their popularity not even raised up a bit they blaming it on the public side rather than on their "Business" Team?
a prove that some peoples just only have the mentality of an waitress rather than "Artist" that actually pursued to achieved their greatest works freely from any kind of restrains.

mostly, the one that complaining skip the first 2 steps and just goes to the 3rd without even begging.

why Free MMO is having their fans worldwide Bigger and Bigger every days even the shitty one?
even some Free MMO developer have only less than 10 peoples at the very first of their game launched and ended up as big player with the same pattern

2. FREE!!! to install and Plays!!!!(Marketing strategies FTW!!)
3. you only required to spent cash on shitty things to look cooler and Bad Ass..and since peoples just loved to look flashy it does net the developer ton's of cash(Marketing strategies FTW!!!)
4. They DO BEG! for peoples to plays their games by act humbles and even swallowed every harsh critiques and follows the demands from PEOPLES THAT USING THEIR *****ING STUFFS FOR FREE!!!

now what I don't see from the one that Complains when someone downloaded some shitty pop songs is...
they never really try to beg peoples to like them, they just demand peoples to paid them...
with all that High and Mighty attitude...some peoples really need a wide mirror when wandering why their Business goes bust....

To be clear, are we still arguing that everything should be free, or simply that copyright is unnecessary to make a living by creating?

Because those are two very different things that are being tossed about and making quite a mess of the discussion.


To the everything should be free discussion: expecting to receive something for nothing is no different than expecting to get paid just because you made something.

To the copyright is absolutely necessary to protect content discussion: artists have and will still continue to earn a living without it. Those that claim otherwise don't realize that the reason they aren't making a living is because no one values what they are producing. Even if they could make all unauthorized distribution disappear overnight, they'd still be broke because no one would be buying. The little guys are actually the ones protected the least by copyright law because they don't have the resources to pursue infringement. Conversely, they are the ones helped the most by infringement because many would not know they even existed otherwise.

You can't discuss with trolls, you'll only get insults and bullshit. It's like religion, or abortion, or homo*****uality, you just can not teach how to be a decent person.
It's not a mess of a discussion, because it's not a discussion at all. If the trolls could, they'd shut down this site for good (without any previous "discussion").

Everything today that we speculate is endless Fake News will have to wait before the truth is cut in stone. So now we can revisit old Fake News to see how earth shattering it really was.

Wow. 10 years on this last post. Lets see what Fake News did. Um, I too feel that nothing should be free and all be paid a fair wage for what they do. But the rub here is that everybody has their own idea of what a fair wage is. And that's the way it is. So Apple long ago dented file sharing by "forcing" music owners to allow music be sold for $1 per song. Apple figured that at that cheap price, people would rather pay up than risk all the legal harassment of file sharing. And it worked very well for a long time. But people lost libraries, iTunes faded, and music owners got fed up with "cheap" prices when their concert tickets were hundreds of dollars. Now there's streaming and subscription services where people are no longer allowed to "own" what they buy. So when you add it all up, people are getting fed up with being nickle and dimed for entertainment. So File sharing is kept from dying out.

Now that Fake News has dramatically succeeded in cranking the crap out of the prices of everything, Lots of people everywhere can no longer afford to pay for their elevator entertainment. Cable subscribers are crashing in favor of cheaper internet content. Cable offered internet and bought studios, but then became content nannies. So it's a war between who will connect when others disconnect. I keep getting bounced around, and I assume lots of others do too.

So now that "cheap" is now replaced by "inflation", people that want to keep some of the average luxuries in life have to settle for the "freebies". So when there's not enough food, they can forget about their grumbling stomach by cranking up Led Zep on their earbuds found laying in a parking lot.

And you can thank Fake News of yesteryear that mucked everything up because it WAS actually Fake News, and now America don't work so well any more.
