solved.. 4 december i copied name of the video file onto the subs file,i didnt
just delete where it says 720p and type 1080p,
i used Microsoft notepad to see that they are encoded as utf-8 , then i played Elysium using my Asus o play media player , i pressed options on the remote control then went to subs and they now show up and play fine
so fantastic thanks for the help : ) but can you explain why i needed to COPY the name of the video file onto the subs file,
don't just delete where it says 720p and type 1080p, or vice-versa, as the name i copied seemed the sameas what i edited other than me needing to change 720p to 1080p so how does copying the name of the file onto the subs make a difference ?
so just so you know i didnt need to change the subs to ansi to get them to work on my Asus media player. thank you thank you thank you : )
@q91 i was asking how to get subs to play on a tv using a media player i own, the subs play as they are in vlc player fine and now you say mpc can too
