trouble with Utorrent

Any advice is appreciated! When I attempt to dl a file from tpb and utorrent opens, the status bar just says "connecting to peers" and never progresses from there. I've never had any problems before. I'm no expert so any idea why this is happening?? Thanks all

Make sure uTorrent can create and receive both T***** and UDP connections through whatever firewall software you are running.

Thanks, I looked in Utorrent preferences for what you mentioned and didn't see it, or maybe it's just not in that phrasing. I did drop my firewall down one level and now it works. I totally forgot that a storm fried my router last week and had to get a new one! Thanks for the reply!!

Good to hear.

Those are not uTorrent configuration directives.

Specifically, your firewall should allow uTorrent to make outgoing T***** and UDP connections. The UDP part is critical for using DHT and magnet links from TPB.

Not required, but very helpful is configuring your firewall to permit incoming T***** and UDP connections on whatever port you have uTorrent configured to listen on, and forwarding the connections to that computer.
