Manufacturers sites "normally" don't give the info as the machines have Win 8 RTM pre-installed before they hit the shelves. So no, for me, i don't know of a generic method.
It took me a good bit of head scratching and researching and still does at times.

"Head-scratching" worries me. I hope you're not taking stabs in the dark with this.
 EDIT: How do you research? Which sources of information do you look for when disabling Secure Boot? |
