RE: Error - Upload error4 - oneanight - Aug 18, 2020 I'm having the same problem as well it can't be the description I've just left the title there have uploaded more files and it's been ok I'm trying to upload this The Rolling Stones Hyde Park Live 2013 High Res FLAC (oan) Edit. I done it all I put in a description what's the title and you know where it says fill this box if it's different title well that's what I did hope that helps everybody or anybody Torrent name"): (if other than file name).....The Rolling Stones Hyde Park Live 2013 High Res FLAC (oan) lol RE: Error - Upload error4 - DarkDream787 - Aug 21, 2020 I kept getting upload error 4 no matter what I tried. Eventually I tried simply taking the "&" character out of the .torrent files filename, and changed it to "and" instead. Once I did that, it uploaded fine. I assume special characters like & are not acceptable in file names for whatever reason. The files in the torrent can have them, but the actual .torrent file would not upload until I removed the character from the file name. Hopefully that information helps anyone who had the same issue. Actually I uploaded something new today, and forgot about this because I haven't seen this error in a very long time. It uploaded just fine with the special character in the title and files. It did not reject it. I had to fix one file, and when I went to upload the new fixed torrent, I started getting this Error 4 again. It didn't matter whether or not the special character is there or not. I'm baffled that it let me upload it a couple hours ago, but I changed only one file with a fixed file, and now it wont let me upload it again no matter how I rename it or change the description. I think this is code based, or something that needs worked on, and not always user error. This second upload is literally everything but that fixed file, including the description exactly the same, yet it wont allow it to be uploaded, but it worked fine a couple hours ago. I took a break, tried again an hour or so later and it worked fine. It appears it may just be luck of the draw and or hit or miss. Just keep trying multiple times, take a break for a while, and try again is about all I can come up with. RE: Error - Upload error4 - Incredulousman - May 25, 2022 I keep getting this "Error - Upload error 4" message all afternoon. I was able to get one torrent to upload, but I tried many times to upload another and I keep getting that message. I don't have the & symbol in the title, nor are there too many files. Any ideas? Well if I was you I'd check the torrent title name. It seems that using special characters, the kind you find in languages other than straight normal English means it will reject the upload. Simply just change the title name and make sure there's no French or Spanish or Nordic characters used in the naming and then it should work. Like me for example several weeks ago I wanted to upload a French and Italian together. I found that when entering the correct title names of the movies it was rejected and gave me the error. I then corrected the title names by using non Foreign language characters and just used plain English ones instead and it worked then it was fine... I'm sure this is the problem you're having... TPB is very English based and nothing else it seems that is the way it has been programmed originally. RE: Error - Upload error4 - Incredulousman - May 25, 2022 I don't think that's the problem. However, is there a limit on how many files can be in a Windows file folder within a torrent? However, is there a limit on how many files can be in a Windows file folder within a torrent? Yes, I know all about this. I have previously found this problem and I can confirm that the limit is around about 1000 files. If you try and upload more than that then it will also reject the upload. I have a torrent that contains thousands of files and TPB won't allow me to upload it. I don't fancy splitting the torrent as I don't like that and have given up even thinking about uploading it even though it is very good. You used to be able to upload as many as you desired to Demonoid the other file sharing site but since changes over the last few years now there is also a limit there too and it's 2000 files at Demonoid. If you find that you can't upload here then upload on Demonoid instead and you can register there quite easily but anything over 2000 then just forget it as it won't work. My old torrent from years ago contained about 8000 or so files and I was able to upload that to Demonoid at one point but the site owner died and all the original programming code was lost and now you are unable to do the same as previous, which is a shame. RE: Error - Upload error4 - Incredulousman - May 26, 2022 I noticed that new torrents being uploaded on TPB have been intermittent in the last day or so. Could the problem be with Pirate Bay? I've seen times with continuously erroneous Error 4 messages before. Could the problem be with Pirate Bay? I've seen times with continuously erroneous Error 4 messages before. I dunno, maybe/maybe not. I uploaded on Sunday and it worked fine for me. If the problem isn't the characters used in the title name or that you've got too many files contained within the torrent you're uploading then I'm not sure. Did you consider that you had too small a piece size for the torrent? Anything that's quite large in size you need 16MB piece size. I have honestly no idea what you're uploading and what kind of content you are doing so I can only guess. It's usually down to a few simple problems that you need to sort out. I would check the TPB Status at the top of the page to see whether or not the server is accepting new torrents. I've uploaded loads now for quite some time and they always upload in an instant. Works really well for me, as a rule I always go for 16MB piece size when around or above the 200 gigabytes mark otherwise again it will reject it. |
