100% Agree. Torrents are here to stay. Nothing can kill it at the moment.

The domain and it's centralized server is it's current Achilles' heel. R.I.P [KAT/ET/..]

Nothing is here to stay, just ask Julius Caesar, John D. Rockefeller, Al Capone, Shawn Fanning,...

100 years from today torrents will only exist in history books (or whatever has replaced them), no question.

20 years from today it is almost inconceivable that torrents will still be in use.

10 years from today is about as far as you can reasonably expect their era to stretch to.

Piracy will never end but technology always evolves.

People still use mp3 files despite them being decades out of date.

Don't underestimate the sticking power of legacy technology.

Also, no one knows what will happen in the next five years, let alone ten or 20.

You obviously missed the word almost in that sentence.

And if you seriously believe that any piece of technology can never possibly be superseded good luck to you. Say hello to your friends in cloud cuckoo land for me.

Will do.

The tech is already here but we lack awareness of it and in order for it to function it must be understood and adopted by the masses.

Two things we need are already present - decentralized databases and anonimous networks. But not yet adopted by the masses.
The few immature and non-consensus alternatives race against time, and the few players in the game lack resources.

Works fine, but relies on the Internet and, without a good index, nobody will know about a torrent, thus it will never get one single downloader.
Block the enry points and you sufocate the entire system.
