Wii and USB Flash Drives - RobertX - Jun 17, 2020 I am planning to get the Wii, but I don't know whether if I should get a flash drive or an external USB hard drive with that. I am hoping that I don't need an external hard drive, but if all else fails, I will use it. What should I get? RE: Wii and USB Flash Drives - Q91 - Jun 18, 2020 Both should work. since you get more space with an external hard drive, that's the only method I have personally tried. RE: Wii and USB Flash Drives - biggzsizzle - Nov 03, 2020 A little late but, external, flash and portable are 3 different types of usb drives. External (requires independent power supply) not good for the traditional plug-&-play. Flash (usually a usb stick of some type) always check online for compatibility, and portable, is just that, easily maintained, designed for quick plug-&-play action, most are supported by the Wii. And the Wii only reads at usb2.0 rates, but with softmodding, recognizes usb3.0 drives (still reads them at 2.0 speeds though). |
