uTorrent web - dueda - Jan 19, 2021 Anyone using the new browser version "uTorrent Web" ? I've been using it for a while as currently I'm not connected every day. It's not really browser-based but a background process with a browser control interface. It lacks most of uTorrent's features, notably categories and the ability to move torrents to other folders; quite a basic panel for dummies, who will use just the "start download" and the "delete" buttons. It includes one interesting feature of it's own, the use of "points" to buy more download speed, which are rewarded as one uploads more (the more one uploads, the more they can use the "turbo" mode), or bought with crypto coins, thus creating a monetization system that should, in theory, help the crews to pay the bills. I mean keeping the index server on. RE: uTorrent web - waregim - Jan 22, 2021 A client throttling speed?? On its own??? RE: uTorrent web - dueda - Jan 22, 2021 Yep, it "throttles", so to speak. uTW has a "speed" tool capable of speeding up a download giving you priority (it's not very clear). IF you contribute a lot and/or donate coin$. Interisting, as I always proposed the monetization of torrent platform (amongst other things) to keep the entire ecosystem alive. |
