I've got a 3 hour video that I just want the sound from.
What is a good prog to do this?
ps. I get really bad sound results with VLC

It's a roundabout way, but it works for me:
Handbrake to convert the video into an MKV format with the audio set to MP3. (just set video quality to low resolution and very fast to make it render quicker)
Use MKVExtract to pull out the MP3 audio out to a separate file.
There's probably a quicker and simpler way, but it's what I use when I need to mix Rifftrax tracks and it works well enough.
