MalwareBytes Question - DavidTenn - Aug 07, 2014 In another thread NIK had suggested installing MalwareBytes to assist in locating problems. Never having used it I thought why not try it out. While there were no major issues found, it now reports 'Malicious Website Blocked' quite often when uTorrent is running. It does not seem to interfere with downloading or uploading so I was wondering if I should let it keep blocking them or create exceptions for them??? Some of the IP's are 218.9.178.77 // 98.142.251.247 // 212.117.167.52 // 109.163.230.167 Some of the connections are outbound and some are incoming. My gut feeling is to keep them blocked since it does not appear to have any effect on uTorrent. But, I thought I would ask and maybe learn something. Thanks, RE: MalwareBytes Question - ShadyJay - Aug 07, 2014 I would leave it alone. If you want to see something more mind boggling check out the log in your firewall under blocked. If you are torrenting all the time the list should be in the ks. Trust MWB most of the time. RE: MalwareBytes Question - -nelly- - Aug 07, 2014 As Shady has said above, leave it alone. If the Pop-up is irritating or bothers you (And it does both for me). Disable it . But again, as Shady has said. Trust MWB imo. RE: MalwareBytes Question - RobertX - Aug 07, 2014 Does MB still tell you if the software program is illegally-obtain, or displays "Don't steal our software?" That's why I don't use it. RE: MalwareBytes Question - -nelly- - Aug 07, 2014 Depends on the torrent RX. Older ones do. Newer ones don't as that bug has been surpressed/overcome. No, the hack works just fine. However I went to the MalwareBytes forum to research some of this and they definitely 'don't recommend using torrenting software'. That's why I thought I would ask here. Thanks for all of the input folks!!!! Thanks for the answers as well, It did get me thinking about what else I should have that I don't know about. I have loaded on my PC; CCleaner Advanced SystemCare 7 TuneUp Utilities MalwareBytes What else would you load? CCleaner Advanced SystemCare 7 TuneUp Utilities CCleaner and Malwarebytes, in conjunction with an A/V is more than enough. Always do a custom install on ALL downloaded software be it torrented or from the softwares site. Bloat/shitware has a way of getting peeps to clicky clicky.
