Office 2013 installer help - kplusonline - Aug 30, 2014 Somewhere along the point between removing Office 2010 and installing Office 2013 something went wrong and now no matter what version I try to install I keep getting errors. 2013's Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper installer crashes before any progress is made and leaves me with this error report: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: OfficeClassicSetup SETUP EXE VERSION: 15.0.4420.1017 SETUP DLL NAME: OSETUP.DLL SETUP DLL VERSION: 15.0.4420.1017 ERROR CODE: UnexpectedError MSI HRESULT: Unspecified ERROR DETAILS: C6F06531 FIRST ERROR CODE: UnexpectedError OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 The current ISO I'm using is from haydenm96's 2013 Professional 32/64 bit I've gone through and uninstalled any office program so far and cleaned out the registry for anything left behind but nothing seems to be working. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks kplus RE: Office 2013 installer help - NokTham - Sep 01, 2014 Which OS? What software have you used to clean the registry? I've found Windows Doctor to do a great job at cleaning the registry (compared to the famous Cleaner). For now you might wanna try to remove all office remains (2013 including) if you urgently need an Office product, you can go with LibreOffice (best free one) or ,the one which I've found to be the most compatible with Microsoft Office products, Softmaker Office. Give this a shot Office 2010 Fix It Office 2013 Fix It Windows Installer Cleanup Utility alternative fix it Another thing you could try (if the above doesn't work): navigate through the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags Make a backup of that reg (right-click on AppCompatFlags and select "Export" and save it) after that delete that AppCompatFlags from the registry (not the one you exported, the one at the registry). |
