How to view .md files using Chrome and Firefox - GOLU - Jun 17, 2015

To be brief .md file stands for "MarkDown" and it is a markup language. More info is available on Wikipedia

I recently began to use .md file as a Readme file in my torrents. Though I can use .txt but .md is more consistent and reliable for me, since it is a markup language. (Previously I was using .jpeg files)

Hope you have latest version of firefox or chrome installed. This method will work on all OS with Chrome or Firefox installed. (Personally, I checked on Windows with Chrome and Firefox installed)

Viewing on Firefox:
Just install a add-on named "Markdown Viewer" or Click here
*Restart Firefox
*Open New tab
*Drag .md file anywhere (Don't drag outside of firefox Big Grin )

Viewing on Chrome:

In Chrome webstore search for add-on named "Markdown Viewer" or Click here
*Install it
*Go to extensions page and Check "Allow access to file urls" (This will allow this addon to render .md files which are saved locally)
*Open New tab
*Drag .md file anywhere (Don't drag outside of Chrome Big Grin, I know you didn't laugh this time)

Done
