Updating software? - scrotty - Dec 30, 2015

So I got 3DS Max 2016 some time ago and I have no idea where from but I just wondered if it's wise to update? Do developers tend to find and fix...whatever I used to get it? Also read on the last topic I made awhile back though for games that if they did, I should be able to undo the update from a restore point. Would that test work then?

It is most likely you've downloaded it from here: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/3ds-max with a three years license.
Update it with no problems; the license should not be deleted nor modified.

Haha, nope. I didn't even know it is free for 3 years...is it even free? I thought that was for students?

100% certain it wasn't from there though, also not likely on TPB but...where else am I gonna ask a question like this?

Makes me wonder about that though..

>Make account
>Get free for 3 years
>After 3 years make a new account
>Free for life?

It's three years for students (fake your age).
If you've downloaded it from a torrent, it is not recommanded to update it. In most cases, it will replace the crack with a new executable/dll.

Final verdict: do not update it.

They want a college name and website and on a video it said they do check it. Kind of does sound unsafe and like something they'd do, it is a $3k dollar product after all.. You've done this?

I've done it once (it was in 2015, I agree) and nothing happen. Be sure you're using another e-mail. Create a new one without phone number or personal infos here: https://www.mail.com
