Starcraft: Brood War exits sporadically - RobertX - Oct 11, 2016
Now, I don't know what happened, but it seems that Starcraft: Brood War keeps exiting on the computer with this message:
Quote:Starcraft has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
The copy of Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War are retail copies.
I'm at wit's end in that I don't even know how to respond.
What kind of information should I tell you guys that will help?

i have the same problem
on a clean pc, new xp install,
had to use StarCraft 1.15.2 enUS Installer
i get this message when i copy my old save games to the save folder on a new install
when i copy the whole directory structure (starcraft), along with the save games folder, i get the same error message. i tried to email [email protected], but they are no longer answering or monitoring that address, and they don't answer the phone. i am also having problems logging in to play wow or post on the message boards.

Thanks, for the (prompt!) reply.
I fixed it. The RAM in the computer was defective, so I replaced them.
EDIT: Just to add, I didn't the Blizzard Downloader; I have a retail copy of the game, on CD, no less. Bought it at 2003 for my old Pentium II 333MHz computer.
