I bought an expensive record the other day as a present for my father. It was Delicate Sound of Thunder by Pink Floyd. I recorded, cut, and applied metadata to the whole record, and since I already had all the files ready to go I went ahead and put it up on TPB in case anyone was interested.
A lot of people were interested. (link)
Within a few hours, dozens of you got a copy! I hope you enjoyed it.
That made me think: why not do more?
If you guys are interested, reply to this thread, and I will start to compile a list of the albums I have.
Also, in the above torrent, I recorded at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz; if you would like for me to shift into maximum overdrive let me know your preferred gear.
Seriously, I'm flexible. If ffmpeg can do it, I'll encode it for you. (Put into mp3, ogg, flac, opus, etc. afterwards.)

There are differing opinions.
Some will argue that past CD quality the difference is inaudible/imaginary but I personally believe that the analog medium sounds better to me after having done some blind comparison.
Others agree with me on the level of sound quality but are bothered by the cumbersome, fragile nature of the record and would rather buy a CD which they know will last them many, many years and which can be perfectly copied any time before falling apart. (CDs, albeit the most lasting form of storage, do deteriorate after 5-10 years I believe.)
Vinyl, like the cassette, wears with each use, however much more slowly. It is also prone to gather dust which can get temporarily or permanently stuck in some grooves causing anything from a light click to the record skipping part of the track. (Hence the frase "like a broken record.") After many years of improper storage, the record may also warp slightly cause a periodic slight change in pitch with every rotation. With proper storage, most of these can be prevented for many, many years, but one has to bother.

(Some of my records were bought used though, so there is nothing I can really do there other than give them a clean, but they still sound pretty good, or I would not have bought them.)I'll get on compiling that list then, and I will get back to you.

As principle, there's no point in asking if someone is interested on something. It's you the one who's going to spend time and resources doing something, so it's your decision and yours only.
What if I tell you: No, I'm not interested. Then you'll think: Damn! I won't do it then.
It's ludicrous.
Piratebay is just a tool to share stuff, and different people with different interests will share different things.

Haha well I know up to me! I just don't want to waste my time. Every album takes many hours, but if at least one person is interested, then I feel like it's worth it and it doesn't matter.

You are asking a minute percentage of all potential down loaders. So making a list is pointless because not every potential down loader visits these forums. Looking through the recent music uploads odds are at least one person will be interested. Only upload because you want to share. If you lose a few hours because no one dls you can always stop and you'll at least have the satisfaction of knowing that you tried to share.

If your first ul got a lot of interest and seeders, then go for it. Make a few more. If it keeps on being popular, then keep going, if it isn't and you don't want to waste your time then stop. Pretty simple.

Have to agree with this. When I first signed onto KAT about four years ago, I started up a thread stating I'd be uploading some really rare, esoteric classical shit, especially pre-18th century stuff. One member asked why I'd bother, since no one was interested in that? I responded that I'd see for myself, and that I wanted to share. No, I didn't have thousands of people clamoring for my releases the way they do for, say, Beethoven's Fifth, or Paul Desmond's Take Five, or The Beatles' White Album. But there are people who find my content of use--and even if they don't know, somebody, sometime, might. It should be available to everyone, not lost forever because some corporation wants to make a profit one hundred times over their initial investment.
Do it for yourself. Do it because you believe in sharing.
Sorry for the intensity. It's the way I feel about this.
