I've never read On the Road -- or anything else by Jack Kerouac for that matter.  That's kind of embarrassing.
Don't sweat it. I 'm almost embarrassed to say I DID read "On The Road", and it was a lot of hard work, for very little reward. If I could say anything to Kerouac now?  . . . . "I'll read your books, when YOU learn how to punctuate". *****ing hipster. It's not like he's James bleedin' Joyce, is it? (Another one who's publisher should have sent the manuscript back, suggesting he learned some proper grammar and shit)
