There were several specials that Jerry Lewis did for Timex in between his film productions, from 1957 to 1960. Most of those original color videotapes were lost...except for his 1959 remake of "The Jazz Singer" and this comedy / variety hour. This originally aired live on January 16, 1960. Jerry's guests are drummer Lionel Hampton, sons Gary Lewis and Ronnie Lewis, Joey Faye ( as the laughing cameraman ) and opera singer Helen Traubel.

This 7th Season episode of General Electric Theatre from 1959 is different from most, being a comedy with a laughtrack.... and almost no dialog. What makes it unique though is that it was the last time The Marx Brothers worked together. The main stars of "The Incredible Jewel Robbery" are Harpo and Chico. I'm probably giving away part of the ending from the photo above, where Groucho turns up in a cameo appearance.

After more than 40 years in films, HAWKINS was James Stewart's second TV series in the 1970s. In it he played Billy Jim Hawkins, a country lawyer who usually takes murder cases in big cities. Strother Martin co-starred in most episodes as his cousin Sheriff R.J. Hawkins. The Executive Producer was Norman Felton through his Arena Productions company, best known for The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Girl from U.N.C.LE. , and Strange Report series in the previous decade. The guest stars in "Death and the Maiden" are Bonnie Bedalia, David Huddleston, Dana Elcar, Kate Reid, Antoinette Bower, Charles McGraw, and Robert Webber.

" Blood Feud " is an interesting HAWKINS episode, in that Billy Jim and R.J. go back to their hometown in West Virginia to work on a case of one of their family members being accused of murder. What isn't explained is if the story is current or a flashback, because R.J. Hawkins is seen in his sheriff's uniform rather than his usual street clothes! Guest stars -- James Best, Jeanette Nolan, Diana Ewing, Frank Marth, Lew Ayres, John Zaremba, and Frank Bonner.
