Help with Playstation 2
#11
So it is the discs after all (could have told me that in the beginning. Smile)

But the thing with that is, the discs played superbly just a few months ago, and I hardly play them!

Well, thanks anyways, even if the answer should have arrived earlier. Big Grin

With this kind of problem you never know, maybe is this, ..and yet maybe laser lens is dirty or weaken. You can only be sure if you try disc on another playstation. Every experiment need time so ..

If the lens were at fault, how come it runs the backups just fine?

Shoudln't it just reject them?

But then, there is the case of the rejection of the three legit discs.

I wouldn't say it's an emergency, although it may require a fair bit of attention; if I didn't buy the games, and used backups, I wouldn't have found out.

What is that?

..reflective cover from other side of current disc. It reflect laser back. This is actually crucial part in this circuit.
Everything is here ..

Just checked that page.

So you're convinced that it is likely the CDs/DVDs that are the culprits?

Me too, but I'll have to buy another copy and try, just as you said.

no, i say: test with another playstation first, step by step experiment. Did you buy new cars because of tires. Than try with other software to make iso. 10 years old first version blindwrite will do the job, very old version, can read any damaged disk, if you can ..

Well, I bought another copy of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007.

I tested it on my PS2, and results were a mixed bag: sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I would say that at least it does work.

I've overspent my budget like when I was Christmas shopping, so I'm going to wait until May to buy something else.
