I started downloading the episodes in the Crywolf folder and noticed many (if not all) the episodes are widescreen movies squeezed to 4:3 to match the Joe Bob footage. Is there a reason for this? Seems it would make more sense to make the video 16:9 and have the Joe Bob parts stretched a little since that part has less screen time and doesn't look as weird and the 16:9 squeezed to 4:3.
Hi,
That's just the way that Crywolf decided to edit his videos. I think that he was trying to keep the old TV\VHS 4:3 ratio for everything.
On my edits, I am using resolutions up to 1080p (when available).
Just so you guys know, I'm currently working on December's edits and hope to have those up by next week. I'll then tackle January and should be back on track for a normal release-time for February. I also have the 2nd Blu-ray that I'll be working on in-between.

RunRunBill is correct. Crywolf (Brad) was doing that to try to re-create the feel of the original broadcast. I personally wasn't a fan of the stretching/squeezing situation myself, but he put a lot of work into them and I appreciate him for it. Sadly we lost Brad last year due to health complications. I was just thinking of him last night during a watch party with some friends.
Just want to say thanks to RunRunBill, Crywolf (RIP), and everyone else who has been keeping on this throughout the years, to preserve all the Joe Bob material we can. Building an archive of his stuff before it was lost to time was always our main goal. Now thanks to Darcy's Patreon and RunRunBill the door is opened to episodes we thought possibly lost forever. Keep on keepin' on everybody! <3

I hope you enjoy. I'm currently working to catch up on January's release and should then be back on track for February. Please excuse any delays, etc. I'm still catching up from some holiday time-off.
If you post this anywhere else, please give me credit, if possible.

Thanks again runrunbill, really appreciate this effort. I wonder how close this archive (combining all sources) is to getting "complete"? I know that there are multiple sites that have episode data for JB, but they can differ a little bit.
Here's one example:
https://cinemassacreold.website-us-east-...tervision/
Just curious how close we're getting to "all of them". If there's a site that's known to be accurate, I'd be interested in spending some time figuring that out.
I know there's differing quality on the older pre-Darcy project episodes that Crywolf gave us all, and I think there's a couple episodes found on other Suprbay threads that are VHS transfers (no other source), but something is better than nothing.

When you consider the Drive-In Theater run on The Movie Channel it was around from the 80s through mid 90's with tons of movies as well. I'd say we are a pretty good ways from "complete" still.

I don't think anyone posted this, but here's a cute Youtube video of JBB interviewing Chucky in-character before the release of Bride of Chucky

According to my spreadsheet and using The TVDB as source for Episode information, here is a bunch of statistics I've gathered. Helpful or not, it seemed to apply to the conversation
MonsterVision aired 396 movies (including multiple airings of the same movie.) runrunbill has provided 91 MonsterVision patreon fan edits.
Drive In Theater aired 845 movies (including multiple airings of the same movie.) runrunbill has provided 139 petreon fan edits.
There are 23 films in the Sleaziest Movies series. runrunbill has provided 6 petreon fan edits.
There are 110 movies in the Crywolf collection that does not match a film covered in runrunbills MV patreon edits. There are 50 that do have title matches and 18 of those titles had multiple airings. These do not include air dates and I have not checked to see if they are the same episode or a different airing of the same movie.
* The number of runrunbill edits is counting 1 version of films with the same air date (Example: The Friday the 13th Marathon is available in multiple different edits and a few films have re-edits.)
Combined, it looks like we potentially have 201 movies from MonsterVision between the two sources.

I did some analysis on the Crywolf stuff tonight and came out with 113 that is not within the Patreon edits.
So my MV count is 204, about 51% of MonsterVision.

There you go, thanks brandon03.
So there's a long way to go. Mentioned in multiple comments this week, I had no idea that many movies played on Drive In Theater. 845! Not sure if JB has the tapes for all of them, and if in scope for Darcy's project. You've got to figure at some point, she's going to run out of time/interest. I'll keep contributing in Patreon for as long as she's at it.
