Thank you once again! What's kind of bumming me out, now that I'm actually watching Monstervision regularly, rather than just whenever I happened to be at home on a Saturday like when it was airing, I'm noticing that as the air dates start getting into '99/'00, I guess TNT started forcing Joe Bob to show regular movies, because monster movies and B-movies weren't bringing the numbers in. The dreaded format change.

I've grabbed the first couple so far.

101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments, Episode 1
101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments, Episode 2

This is great, it's like a sequel to the "100 scariest movie moments" that Bravo did in the 00s. It introduced me to a ton of stuff that I would have never heard of otherwise. I still disagree that their 1 and 2 were from Jaws and Alien. I never found those scary, even as a kid.

i recorded the episode onto a vhs tape, ripped said tape to create a digital copy, and recut the episode with a vhs rip of halloween. yes, it's all in 4x3. yes, it all looks like garbage vhs, which was the point. i don't know how many fans of the show will find this appealing, but it's something i'd been wanting to try as an experiment for a while and i'm reasonably satisfied with the end result. if people find favor with it, i may also do halloween 4. (maaaybe halloween 5 as well to complete the hootenanny, even though i really don't care for the film itself.)

link below - hope y'all enjoy.

That's great, I love it. I still feel like the my favorite version of Night of the Living Dead that I ever saw was the crappy bare bones VHS that Blockbuster Video gave for free during Halloween one year, and ironically, they also gave away free VHS copies of the original Halloween, which is the first time I ever saw it. I think the degraded video quality actually enhances the atmosphere. I've got the big 4K remaster hoohah Criterion of Night of the Living Dead, and it certainly looks nice, but something's just lost when you clean it up too much.

what's funny is i have that very same blockbuster release of halloween and i nearly used that vhs rip instead, but i decided to use the old media release because it had much more mileage on it and gave it that weathered look i was going for.
