My current Fave game is Americas Army : Proving Grounds.
The reasons I like it;
1. Free
2. Online only with a good friendly player base
3. Competitive FPS with limited options so The entire game is based on skill rather than your advancement or what you have payed for.
4. No micro transactions. In fact you couldn't even pay anything for the game if you wanted to.

The progression system gives you no great weapons advantage, just a rank for bragging rights and leader boards in practice areas as well as skins to show that you have achievements to players in game.

The sims. Any of them really. They are all awesome, but 2 and 3 are probably the best. This post includes any other games I may have mentioned before. They are all ties.
