For me I think the best is avast !! It has built in sandbox so it is very safe ... That makes it different from other antiviruses Smile

Well, that computer is old and is running Windows 2000. As of now, it only use Clam Win and no other modern antiviruses or security programs. I don't use it to download programs, rip DVDs, or burn images. I just use it as a testing computer and I reserve it for guests.

I like it because although it is not the most popular software, I am a big fan of free programs. But not only is it just free, it's got the anatomy of a flexible program: portability that can stretch for miles, flat learning curve that the most computer-iliterate (sp?) can comprehend, non-dependence of ads, and a thorough documentation.

It's pretty late, so my grammar is not at its best. In a nutshell, it's a good software because of good foundations of a program.

If, however, you have an antivirus that is better than Clam Win and can run on Windows 2000, Please feel free to tell me.

Hope this helps.

I prefer Windows 2000. It is lightweight, for one. I already installed Windows XP on another computer, and Windows 7/Linux Mint 13 on this one. I don't need to upgrade it, and I simply don't want to.

I enjoy varying my OSs for each computer that I have. Also, I enjoy varying the software that I have for each computer, unless I am forced from doing so. It tends to give a fresh perspective each time.

I did try to upgrade to Windows Vista, but that turned nasty. And besides, there were no Windows Vista drivers for that computer.

Clamwin, as I put it, is a good program with good foundations.
