Windows 10 upgrade and software from tpb or p2p
#1
Just wondering how compatible is the OS with s/w especially s/w acquired from p2p . In particular how it would affect MS Office 2013 and Adobe Photoshop?

And how light is the OS on your system or is more of a hog (looks like it)?

Ive got win 10 since yday, and there are some diffrences, but not THAT many...

its slightly lighter/faster then windows 8.1 (but me not noting that many speed diffrences can be my SSD)  All programs here work fine.

U can see it as going from windows 8 to 8.1, its really just an update. u dont lose any files/ settings or what so ever.

The new browser microsoft Edge is really fast tho.. faster then Chrome nd Firefox Smile

Edit:
If u dont have the update available yet, u can force it with an official Microsoft tool MICROSOFT LINK
I used that tool aswel, and u dont need any USB / DVD or whatever its just a update that appears on ur screen.

Btw I would recommend windows 10Smile

All the same, I'd rather wait for a version with all the bugs ironed out and device drivers for my hardware that support 10, and then I'll get it.

Back to Windows 95 then.

No, that's just too new.

I meant DOS 5.

After all, this is the year of 104 in the Juche Calendar.

Did you guys get the free official upgrade version from Microsoft, or did you folks get the torrent versions all over TPB's site?

Yes, I knew they would try something like that one day.

Somehow, now that I have learned how to install and use Linux Mint 17.2 and prior versions of Windows, I am not bothered by it.

EDIT: In any case, just wait until the hackers take care of this if they'll ever do it. In the meantime, continue to enjoy Windows 8.1 and under.

I've downloaded Windows 8.1 Pro onto my potato PC, and booted it from a usb. There were a few problems but overall it was do'able and I pretty much only use it for gaming.

Its funny because, Microsoft said pirated versions of Windows will not be able to upgrade to Windows 10. And then, my PC notified me when to schedule my Windows 10 update, which I just lol'd at.

I installed Windows 10, Tuesday night, and its really smooth. I only use it for gaming, but so far I've had no errors or any trouble prior to the installation. I did had to manually download/install my display and audio drivers but that has been pretty much it.

If you get the chance to upgrade, you should. I had a clean install from Microsoft, and now it works really fast.

I played some Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Star Wars Empire At War, both were pirated.

I have pretty much no problems playing both, I could even see a small increase in fps so thats good. As for online functionality, SWBF2 works like it always have.

So for me, these two pirated games work wonderful on W10, but I am not sure if the same could be said for more recent games.

That article is interesting, but who knows if the validity is really true. I used the express settings during installation, and I have also left W10 to update automatically. So far no problems, but if any occur I'll make sure to report them.
