Alright dudes,
I've been posting here asking for advice on how to solve that MP4 problem.
For those of you who are experiencing the same problem I did, like not being able to use MP4s on Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7 or higher, there might be a solution.

If an MP4 file fails to play properly with (subtitles - audio?) or any other issue.
using the ADVANCED Codecs, choose to [x] Disable Media Foundation for MP4 on the MPG~MP4 TAB
If an MP4 file fails to play properly with (subtitles - audio?) or any other issue.
using the STANDARD Codecs, choose to [x] Disable Media Foundation for MP4 on the SWAP TAB
If MP4 problems persist after trying the above solution,
it is also helpful to disable the Microsoft Video and/or Audio decoder(s) on the SWAP TABI hope this helps. Actually, I don't hope this helps, I hope it solves your problem directly. Now I can use Media Player for just about everything.
