One of the best freeware utilities that I found is "Folder Firewall Blocker" - It is designed to allow you to block .EXE files from connections to the internet -- one can also block COM, BAT, CMD, VBS, VBE, JS, JSE, WSF, WSH, MSC, SCR, MSI, *****L, OCX, DLL, DRV and SYS file types by just selecting "Block Extra fie types" incuding all subfolders--

A boon to all pirates needing to block internet access to a single file or contents of an entire Folder

Best of all it's Free- OpenSource, portable and not the least, its virus free --

Mipony
This software is a downloader of files hosted by cyberlocker services like UL.to and Rapidgator.

Unlike the very slow JDownloader, the installer is standalone and the software is less bloated than JDownloader.

To select links for download, highlight them all and press the keys CTRL+C. That will automatically paste the links into the downloads queue.

Hope this helps.

Used many achiving tools but moved to peazip, not ultra-modern nor gorgeous, Not the most convenient but easy to use and it's free, no © problems.
Opens most usual formats and works well. Peazip is a wrapper for standard compacter libraries, so it is up to date and surefire compatible. Portable version available.

https://www.peazip.org/

For whoever would need suggestions, Izarc and 7Zip are available.
IZarc had trouble with commercial development decisions and 7Zip is pretty ugly IMO, much like old times WinZip interface.

UltraDefrag. Yes, I still defragment my storage; as a downloader and hoarder, it seems to me a sound decision.
It is ugly like old unix tools, almost a script manager, but is a very functional small tool.

https://ultradefrag.sourceforge.net/en/index.html

Can't do complete optimizations (as almost every other defragger) and will leave some fragments and entire files in place;
No boot mode too;
Includes filters so you decide to move videos or other non-critical files;
Has a "dry-run" mode to preview the results of your options.

Like Systemback, this is a remaster tool, which allows you to backup your favourite programs and deploying them automatically when you install the distro.

Please note that development of Systemback has stopped so if you have a Linux Mint that's higher than 18.1, you might want to use this instead; I can confirm that this is working for newer, 32-bit versions of Linux Mint, namely 19 Tara.

However, unlike Systemback, you might want to learn some command line instructions since this is what it uses. Gone are the days that you can take snapshots; it's all command line.

So far three GNU/Linux types are supported: Debian, Ubuntu/Linux Mint, and Arch. It's pretty easy to use really, just learn some command line stuff and you're golden.

And the best thing is, you can continue your customisation if you point to the altered ISO and it will let you customise it further.

Have a nice day!

If you have multiple machines running, but don't want multiple keyboards and mouses to clutter up your desk, this application is for you.

You can share one mouse and keyboard with as many workstations as you like.

Awesome!

Thanks for the share Big Grin

When you use JLIVECD to remaster Linux Mint 19.1, do make sure that resolvconf (not resolv.conf) version 1.79 is installed via the Synaptic manager in the remastering stage. Then, in the terminal, type:

Code:
service network-manager restart

During the course of three days and three nights, I had to contend with the OS's *****ery of not being able to handle website names. When firing up Firefox, I would get messages saying that so-and-so server is not found. Do exactly what I just said and there won't be a problem.

Hope this helps.

Winaero Tweaker

The all-in-one app from Winaero. It will include almost all apps released by Winaero along with new tweaks and options. Winaero Tweaker supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

The features that I really like are disable automatic updates and disable telemetry in Windows 10.

There are also many other features that are very useful and you might like from this application. everything you can do with just a click.

Currently running Linux Mint 19.2 and now, JLIVECD doesn't seem to work as its remaster, and JLIVECD hasn't been updated for almost a year. Time to change the belt holder: time to introduce a new champion for Ubuntu/Linux Mint/Ubuntu Derivatives: Cubic!! https://launchpad.net/cubic

The reason I declare this to be the winner thus far, is that this tool has become functional to Ubuntu-type remasters by having a community of volunteers to update the software on a regular basis. While JLIVECD did that for a time before Cubic, Cubic has evolved into a working system.

However, one flaw that Cubic has that JLIVECD doesn't is that it won't open GUI apps like Synaptic and xed. JLIVECD can do that. Yet, the strength that Cubic has now is that the system is no longer broken. JLIVECD is.

Note that to install Cubic, you have to do it in the shell. You can't just add the repository and download it in Synaptic. You need to install the program in command line.

Do this:

Code:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:cubic-wizard/release
sudo apt update
sudo apt install cubic

And then, you can use Cubic.

Like JLIVECD, you need to know your command line syntax to install new software, delete default programs, and add repositories for your custom distribution, but it's not hard; after you do all that, you can just click "Next" and let the software do its thing. Thus it is half shell and half GUI.

You'll get used to it.

You'll like it.
