As Spud says: you
could run them side by side but that wouldn't be the best idea.
The speeds of all torrent clients are identical so you don't need to worry about that.
The key differences are usability, which is largely subjective. We all have a natural bias towards finding "what we're familiar with" being "easiest to use". So to get a valid assessment you need to use a client exclusively for a week or two to learn how to use it's features and get used to it's qwerks. That's what I'll be doing.
[Certainly you can install them side by side. ie. you don't need to uninstall uTorrent to test Tixati. The only thing you will need to do is let Tixati take over as the default torrent handler--which it will ask you about when you start for the first time. If you find you can't stand it and want to go back to uTorrent, just start uTorrent and it will ask to take over as the default torrent handler--say yes and you're back in business.]

To give uTorrent 2.0.4 (which is the version I recommend) a whirl without interfering with your current version [or to test new versions before upgrading (since new bugs and unpleasantness are seemingly standard now with every new uTorrent release)]:
1. Right-click on an empty space on your desktop and select New > Folder. Name the folder uTorrent
2. Download into the new folder the version of uTorrent you want from:
https://utorrent.com [ for the latest version ]
[ or, for older versions such as 2.0.4.22867 or 2.2.1.25302 ]
https://www.oldversion.com/windows/utorrent/
https://www.oldapps.com/utorrent.php
or
https://www.filehippo.com/download_utorrent/history
3. Start Notepad
Select File > Save.
Navigate to the new folder, change the File name: value to
"settings.dat" [Be sure to include the double-quotes], and click Save
Select File > Exit
4. Double-click on the downloaded file in the new folder
Click Yes to make uTorrent the default torrent application
If you get a Windows Security Alert, click Allow access to allow uTorrent to communicate on Private networks, such as home or work network.
If it tells you a new stable version of uTorrent is available, click No
5. Select Options > Preferences
Under General, untick Check for updates automatically
Click OK
Et Voila.
To revert to your previous installation, simply delete the folder and restart your old uTorrent. If it asks if it can take over as the default torrent client, click yes. If it doesn't ask, selection Options > Preferences > General and tick Click association on startup. Click OK. Exit uTorrent and restart and it should ask.
