Maybe I'm out of touch with today's technology, but why do you dig vinyl record rips as opposed to the usual compact disc counterparts?

Hi.
Right now I am just hoping that a good vinyl rip sounds like the vinyl. I have discovered... not by choice... that I think records sound more real or life-like than my streaming / CD setup. It is hard to get great copies and pressings so I am hoping these rips are a partial answer for me

Thanks for the responses.
so... I am really really needy, I guess. I have actually downloaded quite a few of his rips, but He must have done, probably thousands, hundreds at least using different systems. Connoisseurs discuss which system has the best sound - for example he (or she ?, that would hot) might have ripped Lez Zeppelin II on 3 or 4 different systems and they all sound a little different depending on the cartridge, stylus, table, software and whatever. I want to be a hoarder and get my hands on everything I possibly can and pass them along to my *****, etc... while these are still available.
I would like to get any Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Pink Floyd, REM, U2, Janis Joplin, Led Zep, Queen, David Bowie, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Abba (I know), Black Sabbath, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Eagles... and He has done some old blue note jazz which is really sought after.
anyone know how to log in to that site - the first thing that comes up when you google pbthal ? Maybe I am too stupid to figure it out. there are Reddit threads about his stuff and other rips, but I am still no sure how to access them. I believe you pay a fee and get to download until your heart is content or your drives are full.
Amy other sites but the constantly broken demonoid, or pirate bay that are sources ?

Are records made any more?
I mean, with the increasing demand, I thought there might be a revival of these things.
I still use VHS tapes to this day.
