Artist: Bill Ryder-Jones
Title: West Kirby County Primary
Official Release: nov 2015
Cover: front
Bitrate: 320 kbps, stereo
1 Tell Me You Don't Love Me Watching
2 Two To Birkenhead
3 Let's Get Away From Here
4 Daniel
5 Put It Down Before You Break It
6 Catharine and Huskisson
7 Wild Roses
8 You Can't Hide A Light With The Dark
9 Satellites
It’s almost 20 years since Bill Ryder-Jones joined The Coral, back when John Major was still in Downing Street, Britpop was at its apogee and the guitarist himself was only 13 years old. As the *****est member of the group, Ryder-Jones’ obvious ability – just listen to his nuanced, sure-handed playing on those first two albums – marked him out as something of a prodigy. But his post-Coral trajectory (which includes playing on and touring Arctic Monkeys' 'AM') has been closer to that of a late, if not outright laggard, bloomer. On 'Satellites', the slowcore reverie which serves as the penultimate track of his third (and best) solo album, he effectively issues a mea culpa to that effect when he sings of how, "I got lost in myself/ And time got lost as well". There are good reasons for that, of course – Ryder-Jones spent much of his lost time struggling with a series of mental health issues that came close to derailing his career entirely – but, in recent years, has found his groove as a solo artist: an unhurried, understated, sometimes lugubrious one, but a groove all the same.
When the end result is as good as this, however, who'd hold a few hours of lost sleep against him? Whereas Ryder-Jones' old band inhabited a colourful, self-contained world of soft drugs, spaghetti westerns and Scouse jabberwocky, his own sonic nook might seem smaller and more earthbound by comparison, but it's no less personal or poignant for that.

TORRENT
Trumpeter Paolo Fresu is Sardinian, accordionist Richard Galliano is French, and Jan Lundgren, the pianist, is Swedish: three virtuosi who create entirely European music using jazz techniques. One comes up with an idea and all three contribute to the final result. These 12 pieces, with their hints of French chanson, Scandinavian folk dance, Italian love song and universal, dreamy ballads, belong to no particular category. Two of them are adapted from classical originals, one by Monteverdi and the other by Erik Satie, poles apart in time and sensibility, but here they sit happily side by side. With each piece lasting about four minutes, and the mood changing subtly from one to another, it’s a deeply enjoyable listen.

Artist: Joshua Redman and Brad Mehldau
Title: Nearness
Official Release: sep 2016
Cover: front
Bitrate: 320 kbps, joint stereo
1. Ornithology
2. Always August
3. In Walked Bud
4. Mehlsancholy Mode
5. The Nearness of You
American saxophone master Joshua Redman and his pianist compatriot Brad Mehldau are long-time collaborators, but this compilation of originals and standards recorded live in Europe in 2011 is their first duo album. They’re improvisationally inseparable on Charlie Parker’s Ornithology, as Redman’s tenor traces the shape of the tune while Mehldau capriciously deconstructs the harmony and rhythms. Thelonious Monk’s In Walked Bud coolly massages a jazz theme famous enough to be mostly implied. A 16-minute The Nearness of You highlights Mehldau’s harmonic adventurousness and features a tour-de-force unaccompanied break from Redman. And the chimingly catchy Mehldau rocker Old West brings out the best of Redman’s terse, rhythmically astute lyricism on soprano, and the composer’s ability to stray into the distance and find his way home by roundabout routes. Always lyrical, the music nonetheless sometimes sounds at the edge of a precipice – it’s improv in the most exposed of situations.

Four years after giving us Music to Be Murdered By, Eminem is taking a quasi-investigational approach with The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), out today.
The run-up to the concept album, Em’s 12th, has incorporated everything from a fake obituary for the Slim Shady character to an album trailer filmed in the style of a true crime documentary. As the first Em album to center on his Slim alter ego in quite some time, the title’s tease of a "death" has spurred many to revisit key moments from the Oscar- and Grammy-winning artist’s back catalog

Artist: Cigarettes After *****
Title: X’s
Official Release: 12 July 2024
Cover: front
Bitrate: 320 kbps, joint stereo
Dream Pop / Slowcore (USA)
Tracklist:
1. X's Lyrics
2. Tejano Blue Lyrics
3. Silver Sable Lyrics
4. Hideaway Lyrics
5. Holding you, Holding me Lyrics
6. Dark Vacay Lyrics
7. Baby Blue Movie Lyrics
8. Hot Lyrics
9. Dreams From Bunker Hill Lyrics
10.Ambien Slide Lyrics
X's is the third studio album by American ambient pop band Cigarettes After *****, released through Partisan Records on July 12, 2024. It was preceded by the release of three singles, "Tejano Blue", "Dark Vacay" and "Baby Blue Movie". It received generally favorable reviews from critics upon release.
Following the band's second studio album, Cry (2019), they would release several singles which were recorded during the sessions of their self-titled album. They would then announce X's on February 28, 2024. The band's lead musician Greg Gonzalez stated that the album "feels brutal" to him. The musician revealed how he actually had to "write" and "sing" about a loss (of a four-year relationship), instead of just talking about it which would simply "scratch the surface". Only then, he would be able to "learn from it" or "relive" it instead of just trying to forget about it

Tracklist:
1.H3@RT$ W3RE M3@NT T0 F7¥ feat. Amaarae
2.Lithonia
3.Survive feat. Chlöe
4.Steps Beach
5.Talk My Shit feat. Amaarae & Flo Milli

12.Cruisin’ feat. Yeat
13.We Are God
14.Running Around feat. Foushee
15.Dadvocate
16.Happy Survival by Khruangbin
17.A Place Where Love Goes
Donald Glover doesn’t do anything by half, and the massive multifaceted project he’s launched for what he says is the final statement from *****ish Gambino, the long-running alter-ego he rode to musical stardom, is no exception. “Bando Stone and the New World” is an album, a film and a sprawling world tour, which were all announced simultaneously back in April (along with another album, a finished version of “Atavista,” the nearly-complete set he’d quietly rush-released in the early days of the pandemic and re-released last May).
The film and tour remain to be seen, but if the “Bando Stone” album is any indication, Gambino is going out with a bang: It’s not only his best and most far-reaching musical project to date, with a brain-busting combination of musical styles and guests ranging from singers Jorja Smith and Amaarae to rappers Flo Milli and Yeat to alt-rock virtuosos Khruangbin. It’s also easily one of the top albums of the year

This new *****ish Gambino album looks amazing! "Bando Stone & the New World" promises to be something special with its mix of R'n'B, Soul, Funk, and Hip-Hop. The lineup of guest artists like Jorja Smith, Amaarae, Flo Milli, and others is sure to add a lot of color. The idea of a film and world tour is also impressive. This is going to be a grand finale for Gambino's musical career. Can't wait to listen!
